Francesco Carucci is a seasoned engineering leader in gaming and rendering, currently Engineering Manager at NVIDIA in San Jose, guiding high-performance GPU software and systems. His career spans leadership and hands-on development across Google, Meta, Samsung, Apple, Crytek, and more, delivering major rendering and performance improvements for hundreds of engineers and artists. At Meta, he led Avatar Rendering across Reality Labs, delivering the biggest jump in avatar and sticker quality Meta has released so far and building a world-class rendering team. He has shaped developer ecosystems and DevTech initiatives at Google and Samsung, and contributed to internal CI and performance tooling for Apple’s Watch division. Outside software, he is founder and co-owner of Gio Imaging Services Ltd., pursuing fine art landscape photography at carucci.photography. He holds a PhD from Politecnico di Torino and previously served as Associate Professor in game development, underscoring a rare blend of research rigor and practical production leadership.
