Henrique Nunes is a London-based AI and software engineering leader with 13+ years building scalable, responsible AI systems. As VP Engineering at Chatterbox Labs since 2013, he leads the firm's AI Explainability effort, patenting and productising an industry-first XAI research that sits as a model-agnostic layer atop existing AI assets. Under his guidance, the AIMI platform delivers eight pillars of insight—Explain, Actions, Fairness, Robustness, Trace, Testing, Imitation & Privacy—with stakeholder reporting for Legal, Compliance, Governance and Regulators. He also oversees the AIDI data insights platform, which validates AI-ready data before design and build and is designed to be independent of any model architecture while providing source code access to clients for regulator articulation. His early career spans software engineering roles at Conversocial and Maisis, and research at the University of Coimbra focusing on genetic algorithms and ontology-based data systems. He holds a BSc in Informatics Engineering from Universidade de Coimbra and combines hands-on engineering with strategic product leadership to translate complex regulatory and explainability requirements into auditable, scalable solutions.
