Mark DePristo is a seasoned technology and biotech leader with a track record spanning big tech, academia, and startups. He founded and led BigHat Biosciences (2019-2025), a Bay Area company applying machine learning and synthetic biology to design safer, more effective antibody therapies. Earlier, he built and led Google Brain's Genomics team, where he helped create DeepVariant and Nucleus, two influential open-source tools that catalyzed machine learning in genomics.
